Welcome to EarlyCRO

EarlyCRO is your all-in-one conversion rate optimization platform. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to start running experiments and gaining insights from your website visitors.

What you'll learn

  • How to create your first project
  • Installing the SDK on your website
  • Setting up your first experiment
  • Understanding your dashboard

Step 1: Create Your Project

After signing up, you'll be prompted to create your first project. A project represents one website or application you want to optimize.

  1. Click "Create Project" from your dashboard
  2. Enter your website name (e.g., "My E-commerce Store")
  3. Add your website URL (e.g., https://mystore.com)
  4. Click "Create" to generate your project

Note: You can create multiple projects for different websites or environments (production, staging, etc.)

Step 2: Install the SDK

The EarlyCRO SDK is a lightweight JavaScript snippet that powers all tracking and experimentation on your website. It's under 15KB gzipped, and it hides only what a test changes.

Option A: Script Tag (Recommended)

Add this code to the <head> section of your website:

<script src="https://api.earlycro.com/sdk/v1/bundle.js?key=YOUR_SDK_KEY"></script>

Verification: Once installed, visit your website and check the Network tab in DevTools. You should see requests to api.earlycro.com. If your site sets a Content Security Policy, add that address to script-src and connect-src, or the browser will block it.

Step 3: Create Your First Experiment

Now that tracking is set up, let's create your first A/B test.

  1. Go to Experiments in the sidebar
  2. Click "New Experiment"
  3. Name your experiment (e.g., "Homepage Hero Test")
  4. Enter the URL where the test will run
  5. Click "Open Visual Editor"

In the visual editor, you can click on any element to modify it. Try changing a headline or button text. Save your changes and publish the experiment to start collecting data.

Step 4: Understanding Your Dashboard

Your dashboard gives you a real-time overview of all your experiments and analytics:

  • Active Experiments: Tests currently running and collecting data
  • Conversion Rate: Your overall site conversion rate
  • Visitors Today: Real-time visitor count
  • Top Pages: Most visited pages on your site
